Chitosan®, a derivative from Chitin, represents one of the few natural cationic polymer (polysaccharide). It is non-toxic and biodegradable. Cognis has comprehensive experience with Chitosan® in the field of personal care over a period of many years. We now offer Chitopharm®, a grade which meets higher requirements.

Chitopharm® from Cognis shows very low endotoxin values and low heavy metal content. It accelerates wound healing and acts as an antimicrobial agent - scientifically proven by independent laboratories. It is particularly suitable for a broad range of applications in the medical field:
