Cognis in Thailand

Cognis Thai Ltd. was established in January 2000 derived from the chemical business of the Henkel Group. The company formerly operated as Henkel Thai Ltd., which was established in 1972 in Thailand.

Currently, Cognis in Thailand is a manufacturer, importer, and distributor of specialty chemicals. It manufactures and imports industrial chemical products including raw materials, intermediates, base materials, additives, and active ingredients, as well as offering total integrated services and concepts aimed at optimizing processes and production. Its major customers are found in the detergents, and household cleaners markets, the cosmetics/ personal care industry, and in a number of other sectors such as nutrition and health, coatings and inks, lubricants, and agrochemicals.

The majority of the business involves local manufacturing, while the balance is from imports. A part of the locally produced chemicals are exported into the Asia-Pacific region.

The state-of-the-art plant, operational since 1998 and situated in Amata Nakorn Industrial Estate, Bangpakong, has achieved certifications in the ISO 9001 for its quality management system; the ISO 14001 for its environmental management system; the OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health Safety Assessment System) and the international GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards.
