Zona Franca site
Extending over 33,000 square meters, the Zona Franca site is located in an industrial area not far from Barcelona city. Its history goes back to the 1940’s when the founder company, Pulcra, moved into the chemicals sector, producing sulfonated oils. In 2001, the plant was integrated within Cognis Iberia, since which time it has operated as a dedicated site serving the Care Chemicals SBU.
For our production at Zona Franca we use the following technologies:
Sulphation (SO3)
- Compounding / Mixing
- Amidation (Dimethylamine derivatives)/li>
- MPR (Multi purpose Reactors)
- High temperature Reactors (HT=): Esters and intermediate for Amphoteric-Betaine production and EsterQuats
- Low temperature Reactors (LTR) to produce:
- PL3: Betaine, Amphoteric (MCA=derivatives) and Amine Oxide
- Quats: EsterQuats (DMS deriva=ives)
- Phosphate: phosphorous pentox=de derivative
- Flaking / Pelleting
