Castellbisbal site
The Castellbisbal site is located 20 km northwest of Barcelona and extends over an area of 90,000 square meters. The site was opened in 1979 when the previous production facilities were moved from the close environs of Barcelona city into this more outlying industrial zone. Initially, the site comprised ethoxylation, polymerization and esterification facilities. Then, in the course of the 1980s, it expanded into new technologies such as blending, simple reactions and oil refining. Early in 2000 Cognis Iberia acquired these assets and made the Castellbisbal site its headquarters on the Iberian peninsula.
