Welcome to Cognis Meaux

The Meaux plant is located 45 kilometers east of Paris and encompasses about 138,000 square meters. It was founded in 1938. Since the early beginning detergents and cosmetics have been manufactured in Meaux. After the Second World War, the first synthetic detergent in France was commercialized in Meaux. The plant is in conformity with the SEVESO regulations. For further details in French language please download here. To date Cognis Meaux manufactures derivates of fatty alcohols, fatty acids, surfactants and polymers.

In 1981 a wastewater treatment field was built-up which enables to keep the site in conformity with the French environmental regulations. In 1994 and 1999 additional extensions have been built-up. A semi-buried stocking for ethylene oxyde has been started in 1997 in accordance with the most accurate security standards.
