Cognis at the 2008 SEPAWA congress – stimulating products and concepts for an overall sense of well-being
At this year’s SEPAWA congress, to be held in Würzburg, Germany, from October 15 to 17, Cognis Care Chemicals will feature a variety of stimulating solutions. These are designed to help manufacturers develop a wide range of high-performance personal and home care products. Cognis experts will also be holding numerous presentations throughout the event to explain how its products and concepts meet consumer demands for a holistic product experience.
Cognis’ all-embracing approach to enhancing personal and home care applications is Feelosophy®. It takes into account the four key dimensions of a holistic product experience – perception, feel, usage, and effect – while also focusing on convenience benefits. New appealing products that improve people’s quality of life and providing ways to relax and re-energize is the focus of Cognis’ Stimulation Feelosophy. The way products are used can create a stimulating experience. Cognis offers a range of stimulation concepts designed to create and add a new wellness dimension.
In this context also on display will be Cognis’ Men’s Care concept: men’s attitude about their own personal appearance has changed noticeable in recent years. For many men looking their best isn’t about vanity. Men’s priorities for skin care products are as individual as their lifestyles from sporty to stylish or natural. Cognis therefore offers a spectrum of products that help to make men’s skin look fresh, healthy, radiant, and younger following their individual needs.
In 2007, Cognis launched Green Chemical Solutions™ which provides clear information on the entire Care Chemicals product range at a glance, showing the proportion of natural, renewable raw materials in every ingredient. In the next step, the focus lies on the whole formulation and its performance.
Today, saving energy costs is not just a way to save money but also to protect the environment. By choosing the right ingredients it is possible to manufacture cold-processable emulsions as presented by Cognis Care Chemicals. With these, amongst others high-performing body lotions, after shaves, and anti-aging-cream can be manufactured with the benefits of saving time, energy, and the environment.
Ingredients for superior product performance
At SEPAWA 2008, Cognis Care Chemicals will be presenting a number of high-performance ingredients for the home care market:
- Low-foaming surfactants and their specific performance attributes for I&I applications.
- Special polymers for hard surface cleaners which prevent dirt from sticking to the surface, and provide an “easy-to-clean-again” effect.
- The heat-activated Care Crystal® concept, which offers a different approach for fabric care including a new sensorial profile.
In addition, Cognis Care Chemicals will also be exhibiting many other products for use in the manufacture of personal care products:
- A “green” and very mild pearlizing wax dispersion for natural hair and body cleansing formulations that serve the new “green” trend towards natural beauty.
- A liquid emulsion polymer with special rheological behaviour, designed to suspend, thicken and enhance the appearance of surfactant-based cosmetic cleansing preparations.
- A transparent micro emulsion that uniquely combines outstanding performance and environmental compatibility to ideally serve the growing "green" trend in the shampoo business segment.
Cognis presentations and talks at SEPAWA 2008

The markets for personal and home care products and industrial cleaning applications are very challenging ones, and consumers are increasingly demanding multifunctional products that not only clean effectively and feel great to use, but are environmentally sustainable too. Says Ute Griesbach, Senior Marketing Manager: “Our in-depth understanding of consumer requirements and broad natural-based portfolio means we can help manufacturers to meet the growing demand for products that serve the global ‘green’ trend, and thereby achieve above-average success in their markets.”
The latest concepts and products of Cognis Care Chemicals and Laboratoires Sérobiologiques will be exhibited at booth D150 and booth D140.
