LS’ Entielles – five active ingredients for five different interpretations of beauty
Beauty is famously in the eye of the beholder. Concepts of beauty are shaped by cultural factors, but ultimately every woman’s beauty is an expression of her own unique personality. This reality is reflected in LS’ Entielles, a new range of naturally derived actives from Laboratoires Sérobiologiques, the active ingredients business of global specialty chemicals supplier Cognis. The range is based around five distinct interpretations of femininity, originating from the five continents and illustrates the diversity among the conceptions of beauty. It also enables manufacturers to satisfy consumer demands for natural-source personal care products with biological active ingredients that offer proven benefits and safety.
Today’s stressful and hectic lifestyle means that consumers are always looking for new ways to relax and rejuvenate, and many want to find ways of helping their skin recover its natural beauty. LS’ Entielle Ressource is an advanced plant extract from the African camphor bush (tarchonanthus camphorates) that can significantly reduce the production of free radicals under stressful conditions. It also provides detoxifying and soothing effects. This active can be incorporated into detoxifying skin care products and toiletries for daily use, rejuvenating spa ranges, active fragrant mists, or protective hair sprays and night creams.
LS’ Entielle Allure is an advanced extract of lovage (also known as levisticum officinale). This invigorating plant was first cultivated in ancient Persia and, thanks to its strengthening and energizing properties, was attributed with aphrodisiac properties, among others. LS Entielle Allure improves the epidermal growth factors supporting the keratinocytes’ growth and the synthesis of proteins, thereby reviving and strengthening the skin to give it a youthful look. It is suitable for use in stimulating skin care and scalp treatment products, energizing spa ranges, or active fragrances and toiletries.
LS’ Entielle Harmonie enables manufacturers to offer products that give an overall sense of relaxation. It consists of extracts of spiked ginger lily (hedychium spicatum), a plant that grows naturally in India. Its essential oil – which is extracted from the roots of the plant – reduces the release of prostaglandins (chemical messengers) by stressed keratinocytes, and limits inflammation caused by environmental stress. By reducing the cutaneous manifestations of intolerance and irritation, LS’ Entielle Harmonie helps the skin to cope under stress. The ingredient is perfectly suited to anti-stress skin care products or toiletries, soothing spa ranges, hair masks and scalp massage treatments, or calming serums.
The fourth ingredient is LS’ Entielle Spiritualité, a fragrant extract of white sandalwood (michelia alba) that belongs to the magnolia family. Originally native to South-East Asia, magnolias are known for their calming properties and ability to improve sleep quality. LS’ Entielle Spiritualité has demonstrated a potential to repair stressed neurons and can therefore be used to restore skin homeostasis and to stimulate the cell’s communication, enhancing the skin’s receptivity. This natural ingredient is suitable for calming skin care products, relaxing spa ranges including active fragrances and toiletries, hair mists or de-stressing hair care products.
The final ingredient in the range, LS’ Entielle Volupté, has been developed from an Amazonian pepper plant (schinus terebinthifolius). This spicy and sensual active significantly increases the dopamine release of neurons. Thanks to the release of the so-called “pleasure molecule”, the skin feels revitalized. LS’ Entielle Volupté can be incorporated into sensual skin care ranges, indulgent spa products, massage oils and balsams for skin and scalp well-being, or active scents and toiletries.
Comments Isabelle Benoit, Global Marketing Manager of Laboratories Sérobiologiques: “With the LS’ Entielles range – Ressource, Allure, Harmonie, Spiritualité, Volupté – we underline our understanding of beauty, which is expressed by every woman through her individuality. Though inspired by ancient traditions, the ingredients are perfectly in line with modern female consumers. These products focus on what each woman wants at different stages of her life, celebrating her feminity lived to the fullest. The range has primarily been created for application in skin and hair care products, but is also suitable for active fragrances. It is based around different experiences that can be recreated at home – namely recovery, harmony, spirituality, energy and delight. And because all the ingredients are preservative-free plant extracts, they help manufacturers meet the growing demand for natural-source products.”
